It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our brother and Shinmoo Hapkido Grandmaster, Chonkwon Inwan Kim. On behalf of Dojunim Ji Han Jae, his Middle East representative the Senior Grandmaster Farshad Azad we express our deepest sympathies to his loved ones, friends and martial arts followers.
Grandmaster Inwan Kim was a personal friend and classmate of the Senior Grandmaster Farshad Azad. He was a wealth of knowledge and a martial artist of high caliber with inspirational messages for the world. His battle with cancer came to an end but his spirit and energy and way of life will continue forever as an example for all martial artists especially those who train in Shinmoo Hapkido all around the world.
May he rest in peace and may his memory live forever!

Here is what Mr. Kim wrote on his social media page a few days before his passing:
"My dear friends,
I want to inform everyone that I am undergoing hospice care.
I like to take a moment to mention to those who met me, shared friendship, supported me through this remarkable journey.
Again, I am genuinely grateful that I have met you in my life.
I choose to keep all good memories and don’t want to think about any negativities.
For me, I only have a few categories in a relationship throughout my life, such as loved ones, best friends, friends, and acquaintances. I don't hate anyone.
Life is too short to hate someone.
Life is love!
Life is sharing!
Money and social status will not bring you happiness.
Stay healthy and share your true love for others.
Life is very unpredictable!
Life is very fragile!
Please treasure your life and don’t waste your valuable time period.
Love yourself, love your loved ones, and love those around you in this life.
...
Regardless of how much time I have left, I will continue to do my work and share my thoughts.
Of course, when I meet the final day of my journey, I will meet you all via FB video.
Love you all."
